I am Terra Anema

Remember gazing at the museum’s exhibits, always drawn to the ancient vases. Amphorae, alabasters, and craters—these small and large objects captivated me! Each form, every design, and each imperfection seemed to tell a story. I found myself imagining the people who had created them, the lives they had lived, the moments they had shared around these pieces. Despite the wear and tear, the imperfections, and the centuries that had passed, these objects stood before me, speaking through their textures, colours, and cracks.

I studied History and Archaeology to immerse myself in this world that fascinated me. It was never just about the objects themselves; they were the silent witnesses of an era, carriers of memories and emotions.

The first time I entered a ceramics workshop, I felt an undeniable pull to take the clay in my hands, to create. It was as though I was connecting with my ancestors, with the people who had crafted the very objects I had so long admired.

And today, every time I shape clay with my hands, I feel as though I am continuing a tradition that stretches back thousands of years. My work is both a homage to the past and a creation for the future. Each piece holds a story waiting to be told, a link to the people who will one day hold it in their hands.

I am Diamantoula Hadjitheodorou! I was born, grew up and live in Kavala.
